My name is Tim Foster, and I preached my first sermon back in 1987—on Mark 10:17–31. It was a shocker! Since then, I’ve preached more than a thousand sermons across a variety of congregations.

For 14 years I served as Vice Principal of Ridley College in Melbourne, where I taught preaching. My goal as a preaching professor was always the same: to help students develop a workflow that keeps sermons biblical, focused, and relevant.

Used wisely, AI can support you at every stage of sermon preparation—helping you think more deeply, explore more broadly, and preach more faithfully.

If there’s one lesson I’ve learned, it’s this: every new tool is met with suspicion, often misunderstood, and eventually embraced. AI is no different.
